Mistakes people make with Food:
Having a goal diet and a normal diet - When you want to lose weight you follow a diet but once you have lost weight you go back to eating normal. The problem with following a weight loss diet is when you have lost the weight that you wanted to lose then you go back to your normal diet. Your normal diet is not what made you overweight in the first place. A diet should not be just for a goal. Your diet should always have a goal. Whether it be weight loss, weight gain or maintain. Maintenance needs a goal as well.
Diet food versus Normal food - There is no such thing as diet food and normal food. There is only eating too much, too little and just enough. There are many factors to how many calories and kilojoules that may be. But it is as simple as calories in and calories out. Not good and bad food. Yes junk food is calorie dense but that does not make it a bad food.
Clean food versus junk food - similar but not the same as above. Just because you eat clean food doesn't mean you are not overeating and just because you eat junk food doesn't mean you are overeating. Once again calories in versus calories out.
Carbohydrates make me fat - No they don't unless you are overeating as a whole. If you eat too many carbs but not too many calories you are not overeating but it does mean you may be missing other macronutrients.
Intermittent fasting works for Me - It may work for you but only because you are under eating for you maintenance calories and therefore you will lose weight.
Just not eating for your goals - You have to be aware fo what your goals are and what you need to do to reach those goals. whether the goal be weight loss, weight gain, muscle gain, fat loss (not always the same as weight loss)
If you want to lose weight you just need to understand the importance of what food does. Why you eat certain food and why quality and quantity are just as important in your choice fo foods.
