Scale Measurements are Like Gambling

Scale Measurements are Used for the Wrong Purpose

You stand on the scale and your down 1 kilo. That’s a great result and your so excited you want to tell everyone.

The next time your up a half a kilo and you say nothing. You’re upset and frustrated and don’t want to tell anyone.

They always say that gamblers only tell you about their biggest wins and not their biggest losses.

This is the wrong way to use the scale.

How to Use The Scales

The scales are measurement tool and a way to see how well your diet and training are working and also how you react to different foods.

If you have a day higher in carbohydrates (glucose) you will naturally be heavier the next day because glucose stores in the muscles as glycogen with water.

So you could be 1 to 2 kilos heavier from having a day with 100 to 200g more carbohydrates. Not because you have put on a kilo of fat.

How would you know?

Because you would have recorded your food intake and seen your calories and macro counts and maybe You are more than you should have.

Sometimes foods react different in the digestive system and may attract more water and you may be backed up and you will end up weighing more.

Learning to eat properly is not just calories and macronutrients but how certain foods can make you bloated.

This bloating can make you heavier.

If you find certain foods make you bloated maybe avoid them or eat less.

Long story short, don’t use the scales as a self gratification, use them as a tool for measuring progress and for measuring your response to foods.

Don‘t gamble on the scales. Use them properly and they will help you rather than hinder you.
