Planned Exercise versus Being Active

Planned Exercise and Being Active

and Being ActiveIn the many years that I have been in the fitness industry I have heard people say many times I don’t like exercise. I find it hard to get to the gym.

I don’t weight training.

I find exercise tedious and boring.

I don’t like gyms.

I don‘t have time to exercise.

Thats ok that you don‘t enjoy exercise or gyms. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t be active.

How can we be more active?

1. Walk to the shops.

2. Gardening

3. Take stairs instead of escalators or lifts.

4. Stand up while working.

5. Move work equipment out of arms reach.

6. Park your car further away from the entrance to the shops.

7. Walk the dog

8. Play with the dog

9. Take the kids to the park and play with them. Don’t sit and watch.

10. Walk to get dinner.

I remember reading an article about a man who would only have lunch at a place that was a large distance away and walk.

As easy as it is to find easier ways to do things you can also make things more difficult and increase your activity. The sky is the limit on what you can do to

increase activity.

Who knows, once you lose some body fat you may then not be so conscious at the gym. Just remember though every one that looks great at the gym had to start somewhere.
