Accountability and responsibility

What is the difference between responsibility and accountability?

Responsibility is your ability to respond to a situation and make your decisions based on your knowledge.

It’s your ability to respond to a situation.

So what is accountability? This means that you are accountable for your decisions right or wrong.

When you make a fat loss goal and your results are not as you would have hoped. You need to be accountable for all the times that you ate out, ate extra food, ate too much at a meal, didn’t account for everything in your meals.

You are responsible enough to make the right decisions on your diet. You are accountable for your wrong decisions.

Responsibility is at the time that you needed to make good dietary decisions. Accountability is when you admit that the decisions you made on foods were maybe not correct.

The problem is always that people don’t accept responsibility to make the right decisions and not accountable for their poor decisions.

When you assess progress it’s important to be accountable for your progress or lack of progress.

The only way a coach can make appropriate changes to a persons plan is when the person is responsible for ensuring they stick to a plan and accountable for the times they haven’t.

No coach can ever help you if your not responsible or accountable.
